ABOUT SHELLI

Shelli brought her winning attitude and work ethic to the campaign trail and made the commitment to clean out the corruption at EVIT, remove the politics and activists from classrooms, expand career and educational opportunities for students, expand business partnerships with EVIT, cut wasteful spending, and NOT raise taxes with budget overrides and bond elections.

Shelli won in 2018 and quickly became Board Vice President and then Board President, where she has kept her promises and delivered results that have made EVIT the gold standard for Career and Technical Education in Arizona.

Under Shelli’s leadership, EVIT has seen enrollment double, administration costs decrease, radical politics and activism removed from classrooms, and more dollars going directly towards student success WITHOUT raising taxes.

In addition, Shelli spearheaded the effort to secure funding to build a transitional living facility for foster children who were getting aged out of the system and needed somewhere to live so they could finish their education and get qualified with a skillset to enter the workforce.

Shelli also led EVIT to start the first surgical tech program in the school’s history, expanding EVIT into medical studies for students.

With the current state of education, Shelli feels it is necessary now more than ever to get involved and make a stand for our children and grandchildren. With dropping standards, radical politics in classrooms, and a lack of accountability in education leadership, she is committed to bringing her experience, record of success, and proven leadership to the office of Maricopa County School Superintendent.

Shelli will ensure that the school children of Maricopa County get the education they need to succeed in life, politics are removed from classrooms, parental rights are defended, fiscal accountability is restored, school board vacancies are filled with responsible leaders, and that good teachers are being supported.

Shelli Boggs is a proud Arizona mom, grandmother, teacher, and education leader who got started in Arizona politics when she saw firsthand the decline in education quality and the invasion of radical politics into the classroom.

Shelli grew up in a Mesa family where she learned the values of hard work, a good education, personal accountability, and never quitting. As a teenager, those values manifested themselves into an Arizona State Softball Championship that she won side by side with her father who coached the team, and earned herself a spot in the Mesa Sports Hall of Fame.

In 2018, after years of working as a teacher, Shelli was compelled to run for the Governing Board of the East Valley Institute of Technology when she saw that politics and corruption were causing serious problems that negatively impacted the students she was trying to put in the best position to succeed in life.
